For two days in April, over 15,000 women gathered from around the world on the BYU campus for the annual BYU Women's Conference. They spent time listening to uplifting messages, reconnecting with loved ones, and giving of themselves to create items desperately needed by people in the community. In 2012, women participated in 23 service projects and completed over 44,300 items!
Some visited one of our Service Learning rooms where they were able to work on projects while listening to broadcasts of Women's Conference speakers. Others picked up "Take-and-Make" kits and completed thousands of scarves, mittens, hats, and pocket hearts. Thousands of women participated in our evening of service working on quilts, happy pillows, Christmas stockings and more. Through your help, our Humanitarian project was able to assemble over 34,000 school backpacks and school supplies for children in Title I school districts.
BYU Women’s Conference participants gave 22,400 service hours. That’s equal to about two and a half years of
nonstop service—in 2 days. It's amazing how much women are able to accomplish when they are working together!
